New Zealand won the Rugby League (softies game) World Cup  Smiley

But the Wallabies have yet to play France (proper game)!  Smiley

Got a bit excited today.  Had a few Damper Recipes to review and try.  Minister for War and Finance (father was a grazier) took an interest in my distraction (even took over mixing the dough) but expressed wonder in why I was getting all these recipes for damper from BLOKES!

I tried explaining the old jackaroos were renowned for their damper but SWMBO thinks the whole thing is a bit girly (she's pretty good with a stock whip as well!).

Well, what do your better (other) halves think about us blokes submitting recipes?

Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean I

My wife thinks it's great.
When we go away for travelling/camping holidays she only has to make the tea and coffee.
I cook 3 a day every day.
She loves it cause she get a holiday.
I love it cause i get to use cast iron.
Everybody is happy.

I am not getting into a discussion on you blokes and your sexual preferences Smiley.

The MOTH here just shakes his head when I say this bloke in Queensland cooked this or that, or my "friend" from Bundeena has made me a gadget, or the boys cook for large groups and use fabulous recipes and you should see the crabs they have  Cheesy

I doubt he thinks any of YOU queer but ME and my choices of friends and hobbies have always been a mystery to him.  As long as I cook things that he will eat he is happy enough.  He even takes a turn when we go camping to cook meals but keeps away from dampers, bread etc.

Like you Baldrum I keep collecting all the variations on Dampers and knowing I shouldnt eat them, I wonder should I or shouldnt I cook them.

Derek you probably hide your light under a Bushel, I know many females who would die for a man who would offer to cook for them.

I don't have a choice on who cooks, well I do, I could eat cheese on toast morning, noon & night,
Suffice to say my wife couldn't cook to save her self, hmmmm, may be that's why she was thin when we met????? Grin Grin Grin

My missus was still working full time when I was retrenched so if I wanted to eat other than take-away I had to cook. Found I liked cooking and was interested in camp ovens so joined the two and the rest, as they say, is history, I do most of the meals now. As I've gained confidence I have competed in several contests and even won a damper cooking contest last year.

Had to laugh at Balrum's comment about blokes exchanging recipes, never thought I'd end up swapping recipes with the likes of TBF and BillBushCook who are both pretty handy around camp fires and ovens.

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

Good thing the French flyhalf left his kicking boots at home, or they may have got home. The ref even let him off early to go find them.
