May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven
half an hour before the devil knows you're dead.

Yeah thats a point Derek.
Block ice would be the way to go for short trips.
Definitely a cheaper option than the missus wanting to get an air conditioned van. Worth a try anyway.
Wonder how it would go on my gas fridge? The element would probably never get cool enough with constant air flow, but packed with ice and blowing from the element end and then through the ice.....nah, dreamin' now.
Still think I'll give it a go though.

Harden up Robbo. Grin
We were built to withstand the harsh Aussie conditions.
The only thing we need is a cold beer to get us through. Wink

And with all that cool air coming out....warm air is going in. Dont think the ice you have, would last very long at all.

I'll remember to offer you a teaspoon of cement at the COG when you cant sleep for the heat and the beers are sweating out of you Big Fella. Grin Grin

I know what you mean Stew but if the unit is in the tent with you the air should cool down. Gotta give it a try, getting a bit soft in my old age.

Was in K Mart yesterday picking up a few last minute things for Chrissie and lo and behold, they are selling these things.

Didn't take any notice of the price tag so will have to have another look.

The wet towel over the doorway or tent window trick.

Coolgardie Safe will do the trick every time.

My mother-in-law fell down a wishing well, I was amazed.       I never knew they worked.

Did you happen to follow this one up, Derek?  I think it might be of interest to a few.

I saw them also at K-Mart the other day, 2 different types.

One was reduced to $35 the other $49, I'd only be interested in using them on a hot night but having no electricity I figure it would be too hard keeping the ice, I'm not taking a third esky just for this thing.

Cheers
