Derek, how's about giving us some pics of how you set up for cooking when you're just out camping, not doing demos, not at a COG

Cool

Would you believe I don't have any.  Grin Grin Grin Grin  I always seem to take lots of photos of other folks but none of my own.

I use my cooking table and Heat Beads when not using a fire other than that I just cook around or on the fire depending what I am cooking.

The photo below has my Bedourie (used for meat) beside the fire, Hillbilly on a tripod (from memory the Hillbilly was doing a steamed pudding in that photo) and a cast iron pot for veggies.

What I'm getting at is that recently a lot of the posts have been on home set ups that take either lots of labour or lots of $ (view from up here).  & there have been few of late for what you do on the road.  Sooty had one using a ground fire pit.

So, Derek, how about taking a pic of your table with something on it oven wise and showing how it can be home and road, especially if you boondock where none has camped in awhile.....

please

Undecided

Thanks people - some food for thought.

LK - elegant solution, portable and not a lot of space required.

SBB - in-bloody-genious, and so versatile!  How deep in suburbia are you?  I'm limited by the size and shape of the backyard and would have to site a permanent-type set-up next to a dividing (timber) fence.

Come on folks - lets have more "outside the square" solutions.

Baldrum suburbia isnt one of my favourite places......so i dont need to worry about smoking neighbours out.....having said that my set up produces little in the way of smoke or flames as long as you stick to heat beads pr charcoal so should be a possibilty in surburbia

Smiley Love the legs on ya cooker Muzz.....more bricks Shocked

Muzz I think you've just won first prize for portable simplicity - you could even transport your CO's in it.  Are they tent pegs you're using for support?

And where do get empty 50 ltr drums?

Cheers,

Ken

Tent pegs.
Try your local panel beater or garage, just remember flammable liquids when cutting the drum. Some pool chemicals come in a good sized drums.
