Forget the fancy Political words and just agree/disagree - is a Q Weber a good investment ..............

OK, I love the Weber Q.. It is a faithful companion on beach trips and other day trips....  I would get the high clearance lid next time tho....

A furphy, is Australian slang for a rumour, or an erroneous or improbable story.  You would never get anything but the plain honest dinky-di truth here... I promise!!!!  Yup, hand on my heart, promise, true blue, uh-huh true dinks, dead set!!

Getting back to the original discussion thread "Permanent and Portable Camp Oven Heat Sources"................................
Made a discovery in Bunnings Tmba today:
COCOCHEF PREMIUM GRILL BRIKETTES
100% PURE COCONUT SHELLS
See: www.outdoorchef.com
They appear to be the same source as Cobb Cobble Stones.
$4.25 per 2kg box.
They are about the same size as a HeatBead.
I am bringing a few boxes with me down to Thora, one has "Rastas" written on it, another says "Derek".

David, unless you particularly want a gas barbecue, why not get the barbecue plate for your other Weber and use that.

I bought a brilliant round cast iron grill for the Weber today as one does on the way home from work:
"European Outdoorchef 42" Reversible Cast Iron Griddle".
Fits the Weber a real treat. Have a feeling this is going to be very handy. It is listed in the below website as "Cast iron griddle
Ø 39 cm". Just measured it, it is 39cm, 42cm includes the c/i handle lugs:
www.outdoorchef.com
Will have to season it along with the Furphy Jaffle and a BCF BBQ plate for two burner gas stoves which was bought to use on
Wivenhoe Dam fire places.

Just bought a great gadget at BCF today - the BEER BIRD. An upright chicken cooker with the bird inserted over a beer can. EVERY recipe calls for "1 can beer". That's my sort of recipe.
Anybody know if it works?

Dont tell Beryl, but I visited Barbecues Galore Tmba today  and placed an order for 1 x Big family Q plus (Q300-P) - should be here by Friday!
Then we have two!!! Total flexibility!  The more I looked at the Weber "Q" range the better they seemed.  Very clever.

Not sure if it works, but I wouldn't waste a can of beer on a dirty old chook. Beer (VB) is fine they way it comes  Grin Grin
