Back to the topic here. This is what I used at Millmerren Camp Oven Festival 08 (Seeing ya couldn't have a fire). Worked good

Steel Table, Gas ring, Heat Beads, Custom Wind Break   Grin

...

...

Apparently ya can just throw ya crackling on the top of the gas ring to crackle it up - eh Skip  Wink Wink

Hey Skip,

Thanx for getting back on topic  Tongue

That's quite a clever set-up, one CO on top of another.  Never seen that before, but then I've lead a sheltered life  Wink .  And I haven't seen a CO with legs on the lid before.  Who makes them?

Like the custom wind break too - your own invention?

Hey Skip,

Hey Baldrum, Jono (MW) here.

The set-up works well, The camp ovens are Camp Chef (Lewis & Clark) You can buy em at Anaconda Stores. The wind break idea I stole from PD (I think). Just bits of tin with curtain rings holding it together. Folds flat

Cheers
Jono

PD used former license plates for that set up.

Forget the fancy Political words and just agree/disagree - is a Q Weber a good investment ..............

OK, I love the Weber Q.. It is a faithful companion on beach trips and other day trips....  I would get the high clearance lid next time tho....

Dont tell Beryl, but I visited Barbecues Galore Tmba today  and placed an order for 1 x Big family Q plus (Q300-P) - should be here by Friday!
Then we have two!!! Total flexibility!  The more I looked at the Weber "Q" range the better they seemed.  Very clever.

Hi Jono,
Apologies for incorrect acknowledgement - looking at the time I made the post I was probably "tired and emotional" as they say.  Embarrassed

Given the way this topic has meandered a wee bit, I have to say my Baby Q is the bees knees - portable - perfect steaks in 9 minutes, and so economical.

This afternoon I washed my new Bedourie, Aussie Camp Oven and Bush Wok in hot soapy water, then "seasoned" them on my single (canister) $17.00 stove - took all of 1 Budweiser and 2 Chardonnays.  Tonight we had garlic prawns in the wok and beef stew in the Bedourie, and I hafta say there is not a skerrick left.

With my birthday coming up in a couple of days I have hinted to my sons that a Camp Oven Mate would be appreciated.  # 1 son says he has already bought me a pressy - and the clue is a sausage sandwich.  Obviously this means a Bunnings Gift Voucher which is great 'cos I can get a shade cloth to pitch my tent on when we go to Fraser Island.
