Intersting numbers towards the end of the auction,  at least 2 bidders wanted it.

It also goes to show that a bit should never be a round number....

Interesting CO.  I am not sure I have seen one (or ever noticed one) constructed like that..

I wonder if the "Simpson" is the same as the washer manufacturer???

A furphy, is Australian slang for a rumour, or an erroneous or improbable story.  You would never get anything but the plain honest dinky-di truth here... I promise!!!!  Yup, hand on my heart, promise, true blue, uh-huh true dinks, dead set!!

I'm guilty Sad Sad Sad
I have been looking for one for quite some time.
But all I've done is create an assumption in the marketplace that this is now their value. I was not expecting this to go for so much, and I'm annoyed with myself for getting caught up in the moment as I don't think it really reflects their true worth.
Can't do much about it now.
Astro.

Geeeze Astro...dont be so hard on yourself.....at least two other bidders were prepared to go higher than $100 for it ........another day another auction it may have been more or less......both money and bidders.
And it is after all a piece of Australian History Wink

I was in the bidding in the early stages but wasn't prepared to go that far.  Good buy Astro.  There are not to many of these around anymore because they do rust out pretty quickly if neglected.

I look at it this way Astro, you may think you paid too much for it but once it arrives in the post and becomes part of your collection, you will soon forget what you paid for it. And in the years to come you will probably say to your self I am glad I bought that when I did, because I haven’t seen one for sale since that one on Ebay.  Wink

Yeah I had forgotten about it by lunchtime and it will make a nice addition to the collection. There have been a few occasions in the past when I've paid a little more than expected for things but at the end of the day you are only paying tomorrows prices, and it seems better than investing in the stock market at the moment.
