Watching several of the ovens presently for sale on eBay and while I would never ever ever suggest that things were a bit suss but one person shows up as having six successive bids on one oven, the same person is also bidding on a couple of the others, coincidence ??

Yes PD the prices are rocketing up! The same two bidders are competing for both the Metters and the Albion.

It does make one wonder at times, as to whether some Ebay vendors join the throng of bidders in an attempt to run up the price.

I note that the 12" Metters is doing very well at $222.50. My mate will be pleased. He picked one up earlier this year in excellent condition for $80.

Many would consider $80 a bargain price for a 12" Metters, however they are really not all that rare. In recent times, I've heard reports of serviceable ones going for as low as $60.

Ebay certainly seems to be the place to flog Aussie camp ovens for premium prices.

You're not wrong SJ, I will be flogging off some of my surplus pots in the near future but keep that to yourself.

The latest offering on eBay for anyone who didn't notice, a Metters lid on a chinese pot. Starting off at $49.00, another case of buyer beware.

PD
I've sent him an email to challenge his statement.
Surely he doesn't believe it to be a Metters.
He is either a fool or a fraudster.

Derek, am I allowed to write that or am I stepping over the mark?  Embarrassed
If I have, please remove the offending part.
