For anyone thinking of bidding on the 10 1/2" Harding I eMailed the seller as I've never heard of a Harding this size, he came back, it is 275mm across the top o.d. you do the conversion !
I have one of these and it is my favourite oven, a good size, I never go on trip without it.

Another perspective.
Put the shoe on the other foot troops!
The owners put these things on ebay to get the most they can.
We'd all expect the same. Goodluck to 'em I say

I agree TBF, I would'a dearly loved that 17" Harding on eBay but $535 was more than I could find in the piggy bank.
As for garage and clearing sales, I know others have found pearls but I've been to hundreds of them and never found a single CO worth having.

Years ago, I used to attend a lot of clearing sales and there are gems to be found, but you're right, they are often few and far between. There is also the added consideration of petrol costs and time spent traveling and attending these sales. Some sales can take two or more days to complete and the item you maybe interested in, may not be auctioned until the middle of the second day.
In many ways if one is going to head down this track, you really need to be looking to acquire more stuff than just the odd camp oven. In other words, if you're interested in farm machinery, tools or saddlery as I am, it may be worthwhile, however if you're just going on the off chance of picking up a CO, it's probably not worth the effort.

Will you look at that little 11" Harding on eBay GO, $355 and a couple of hours left. I have one I take camping with me but after this I'll treat it with more respect, no more leaving it outside the tent overnight.
It might even bring more than that 12" Furphy and rightly so, it's a better oven IMHO.
