I saw that one and I reckon your right. The lid looks like she's a ring in. Going by the size he reckons the pot is I thought the lid may suit my Albion 12" base I picked up.
That was when it was still at 99cents yesterday, now there's some interest I think it will be a lost cause. 60 bucks now, plus 40 for postage.....don't need a lid that bad.
Looks like the Albion base will make a good water dish for Dave.

On this side of the pond cast iron pots in that style are listed in Ebay fairly often.    I don't look at the auction description much anymore, but I think it was a general hang-in-in-the-fireplace pot.  & the legs would let the user set it down and still have some heat under it.  But  the legs are always so stubby, I've never been tempted by one.

Undecided

I bought this BIG heavy Clark & Co No 5 (5 quart) kettle on eBay.

Sender simply placed it in a plastic shopping bag, tied a piece of string around under the handle to make a "waist" and sticky-taped the top above the handle like a ladies hair cruncher.

Then wrote my name/address with a Nicko pen on the bag which has gone through onto the kettle and has branded it.

Amazingly it survived and landed on my front porch in perfect condition yesterday!  Could be a good bluff with Australia Post?
Anybody want to try this with a camp oven?

Can anybody explain why the front of the base is cut away?
Must be a reason.
