The Furphy Jaffle Iron that can be purchased by mail order from Furphy for around $50 has now bid up to $162.00 including postage............

Before eBay stopped showing who is bidding on items I used to email them and let them know they were being ripped off.

Can't do that now.

I see the Furphy turtle sprinkler and boot remover also went for pretty high prices last night.

Derek, like you and Astro I have emailed some eBay sellers about stuff mislabelled either intentionally or not and have usually been ignored.
Quite often on eBay you'll see pressed steel woks or cast aluminium Gem scone trays called cast iron, I put it down to the fact that the seller doesn't know the difference.

I have actually found sellers to be quite rude about it at times.

That is one of the Furphy's made by Billmans in the late 90's.  If you look closely at the rim of the lid you will notice that it is wider than the original Furphy's but not quite as wide as the Chinese ones.

If you look at the second photo of my 15 inch Furphy you will notice the very narrow rim to the lid.  This was typical of what t the original Furphy's looked like.

That 15" Furphy of yours Derek is a classic looking oven, I have a 14" Furphy made by the KSC (Kangaroo Stove Co), different again, also have an 8" Furphy with the Kangaroo brand on it.
Pics ? yes I'll get onto it.

Furphy bought the Kangaroo Stove Company and with it came the old molds and they put Furphy on the lid and made a few of them.  I got that from Furphy.

That begs the question.  How many camp ovens and at what size did the Kangaroo Stove Company produce before they sold out to Furphy????
