I emailed the seller about thirty minutes before it closed, asking if the item had been seasoned, reply:

yes it has

- barmah.redgum

So an idea, you buy em in from maker, season them, then put on the net!!! Simple
Even I can do this.  New career coming up.........

I believe barmah-redgum had an Uncle who (for some reason) had a swag of Furfy ovens squirreled away.  Mr barmah-redgum now has the job of selling them off as they were bequeathed to him - or something like that.....
I had a tough time translating his email regarding this.    Huh

My mother-in-law fell down a wishing well, I was amazed.       I never knew they worked.

Sorry OJ, I don't believe a word of it... he's sourcing them from the foundry and trading on people's ignorance.

Worth a look:

It is not a Camp Oven and is over priced.

OVERPRICED ! You got that right David, most swap meets you can pick them up for $30 to $50. I bought one at the Goulburn Swap Meet several weeks ago in absolutely mint condition for $25.

Isn't that similar to the one at the antique shop we went to the other day Dave???  He wanted 500 bucks but would take 350 dollars (from memory)

A furphy, is Australian slang for a rumour, or an erroneous or improbable story.  You would never get anything but the plain honest dinky-di truth here... I promise!!!!  Yup, hand on my heart, promise, true blue, uh-huh true dinks, dead set!!

Yes the same. He is firm at $300 now, and still is firm at $50 for those 3 c/o lids (each)

Not eBay, but a similar concept.
Was in the Tmba Tender Centre yesterdayand spotted a very nice Kenrick 6 Pints kettle.  Unfortunately the lid was missing.
Anyway I bid what I thought it was worth.
Then may have to spend the rest on my life looking for a lid...........
