Dont forget the lady next door a few metres from the Gorge entrance:

"Naree also sells fresh organic vegies, dressed organic chickens $10, organic Lamb full body $100 or will sell a leg of lamb, chops etc."

KD June report on visit today to The Gorge Camping Ground.  See attached pics
Met the owner Val, ph:55260683 (or daughter Kylie if Val is out).
She had a vague idea of some contact about camp ovens but had no booking or name/contact number to reply to or when it was happening.
She was not expecting us on the date Derek has put up.
No timber - byo
No drinking water - byo
No power
Limited Mobile phone service
Cost $3 per person per night.
Main fire pit is about the same size as Michaels, 1 metre wide, I gather that fires are restricted to within the rocks.
Several other barbecue fireplaces available (see pics).
Toilets available: 2 toilets and two showers each M and F.
Showers by a similar device to the hot water machine at Thora, make your own fire, add cold water via hosepipe and hot water fills the bucket. Take to overhead shower device and fill, then pull handle. (see pics)
Directions: if coming from Brisbane pass through Aratula and turn left into Charlwood Road, immediately before the Aratula Hotel/Motel, proceed for exactly 2.5kms and turn right at the sign for The Gorge.
Reverse this if coming from Warwick.
Firewood is available from the property immediately past The Gorge sign at Lilians Retreat ph: 54637586 Naree. Cost $10 per row, see pic with 2 rows. Naree also sells fresh vegies, dressed chickens $10, Lamb full body $100 or will sell a leg of lamb, chops etc - all organic.
Aratula Markets is a fruit and vegie barn with very well presented produce. Also being an agent for Riversands Vineyards St George and
ample stocks are held including; Black Magic Vintage Port 2007 $19; the Pottery Quart Pot Tawny Port $59; Golden Liqueur Muscat 500ml $24; Sterlings Reserve 500ml $24 sweet red liqueur wine made from late harvest Black Muscat grapes, enjoy with mudcake.
The Aratula Hotel has full services, bottle shop, ice etc.
