Surely there are more than four members of this place booking in?
(see Poll)  Sad

KD n Beryl are going down one weekend prior to check this place out.  Seems similar to Thora in a LOT of ways!

We will need to provide all wood with wood unable to be collected from the nearby bush areas.

Only about 22 days until the Gorge COG. What are we going to do about wood???

A: Buy a couple of loads locally and share the cost ....if so do we pay a little extra for quality wood that will produce good coals???

B: See what we can scrounge ourselves and hope for the best ??.....I can bring a chainsaw if need be. Not sure if the locals will be keen on us chopping wood on the sides of their roads....I havnt been over that way for a long time but seem to remember its pretty heavily populated with small hobby farms / lifestyle type blocks of land. Wood could be hard to find on roadsides if the locals have been doing the same thing......it does get cold out that way in winter from memory and a lot of them would have open fires / pot bellies ect.

Anybody got any ideas or thoughts on this ????

When I visited there were definite signs saying no collection of wood and you are right as it is all small farmlets.  There is a place sells wood not far from the Gorge itself.

David, you said you were going down the weekend before to have a look.  If you are can you check out to see if we can get a supply of wood from them.

Other than that we will have to cart it in from wherever we can get it.

Mind you I am happy to cook with heat beadsTongue
