Perhaps it is because we are far more concise with our words..... and can communicate telepathically and with sub audible guttural grunts?????

Ooooh-Huh????

A furphy, is Australian slang for a rumour, or an erroneous or improbable story.  You would never get anything but the plain honest dinky-di truth here... I promise!!!!  Yup, hand on my heart, promise, true blue, uh-huh true dinks, dead set!!

Just to give the Mexicans  some competition, we are menu planning in The Sunshine State.
KD expects to be putting up (over 3 days):
- baked potatoes with garlic butter, coleslaw, cheese (Friday night)
- Ham and pea soup with a big ham hock  (Friday night)
- roast stuffed rabbit and roast vegies (Absalom, Outback Cooking in the Camp Oven p62) (Saturday night)
- hot roasted chestnuts (Cobb) every night
- cheesey damper (not burnt this time) any time
- potato and sweet potato bake (Beryl did this at Thora) (Sat night)
- rice pudding & bread and butter pudding (Beryl's signature dishes) at random
- a roast organic leg of lamb from over the fence (Lodge) (Sunday lunch)
- a roast organic chook             "      "     "      " (Sunday lunch) (Cobb)
- Jaffles, ham cheese tomato and onion for breaky

All in portions to serve four.......................

Yum KD you got my taste buds going.  Funny all the fancy stuff we try to do and for me you just cant beat a baked potato with onions, cheese, coleslaw and sour cream and maybe a splash of sweet chili sauce.

Somehow chestnuts I can pass on, do you add any flavourings to them?

You are obviously not from the "Old Country", NO, Chestnuts with a little salt is pushing the limit.

Hey Derek re the Poll.
In my case I am one vote but there are two of us.
So on that trend it could be that we have seven not four coming?
Please explain...............
Might have to buy more Rabbits..............
Also thinking of bringing a Goat leg roast.

Yes KD tried them a couple of times in case I had changed my mind with maturity LOL, my mother did cook them when she had a chance to get them, long ago.  Well part of my genetics is from the old country but not all.

They had fancy gum boots for sale at I think it was called Pacific Fair up your way but were out of the leopard skin ones when I visited up there.

I am thinking of cooking a duck with orange and herb stuffing for Saturday night dinner.  Also a large pot of garlic butter roast spuds.

If all the duck don't get eaten could do some duck in white sauce pancakes for brunch on Sunday.
