Quite an interesting history to them Kez I enjoyed reading about them on the links.

I read about Piroshki years prior in a James Bond book when he ate a stale one with a soup in Russia.  Cheesy  I find my brain a funny thing lots I forget the moment I am told, some trivia I never forget  Grin Grin Grin

Now I am on yet another diet  Shocked so am having to turn my food dreams to healthy stuff.  Funny enough I like that as well as everything else.

Very nice Kez.  You could have just about done with a bigger camp oven.  Smiley

Well if they were ok for 007 they should be pretty good.  Of course that would have been Sean Connery.  Tongue

Hi Carolyn,

My sister is married to a Russian and his Mother often made Pieroshki (they called 'em Pierogi's) for me.
They were to die for she used Chicken & mashed potatoes + extra bits .
She would somehow plait the pastry closed and then they were fried in some butter.
Didn't know when to stop eating.

Regards Skip Smiley
(I have her Recipe somewhere if your interested)
