No Primer. That's just what new cast iron/sand blasting(?) looks like David, Season it up quickly or it will start to rust.

It already has four rust patches on the outside wall of the base, will cook it Saturday morning.

The legs are a good length. T

Yes after Furphy's exploits with pitifully stumpy legs, it's refreshing to find an Aussie foundry manufacturing camp ovens with decent sized legs.  Wink

I cant remember who, Embarrassed but there is someone on here that has a 9" billmans,is it Muzz?
would like to know if they use it much, and are they happy with it.
I know I will be,but its good to get feedback from someone that  uses one.Doesnt have to be that brand, just a smaller size oven.
cheers George

G'day George. Both Muzz and meself have 9" Billmans, we picked them up personally last year and they are a good little pot.
I also have two 12" pots one of which is 10" deep, neither have any name or ID on their lids.  I showed them to Astroboy who recognised them as early Billmans ovens and gave me an old lid which does has the Billmans name on it in small indented lettering not like the later ones with raised letters.

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

How's your 12" Billmans going, have you managed to do any cooking with it yet?
