Just bought this Falkirk on the U.K. eBay, by default, seems I was the only bidder:
VINTAGE IRON 3 LEGGED LIDDED POT FALKIRK S. AFRICA
Winning bid: £2.99

Three quid! That is AU$6.00!

This is my fifth Potjie !

Interesting story. The seller is in Scotland, near Falkirk! He bought the item in a clearing sale near Falkirk and assured me the country of origin was Scotland! He changed the listing after I sent him the SA Falkirk website! Grin

If sellers researched the item and worded the listing correctly they would make a lot more money. I often search obscure places in eBay to see what comes up. The Hervey Bay Falkirk I bought would not be found under an eBay search for "camp oven".

Sometimes it pays to register and visit other country eBay sites like eBay UK, eBay Canada, eBay USA. Dont bother with eBay New Zealand!
Now and again, about once a week, I have a fiddle with other countries, that is how I found the "Scottish" Falkirk Grin

Go to eBay "Home" to the upper left of your eBay Home Page.
Then scroll down to the bottom and you will find the International eBay sites. You will have to register with each if you want to bid, but you can get in and look.

Today Beryl brought home the SA Falkirk No 2 Potjie shown below in an earlier post.
It weighs 10kg, the Best Duty No 2 weighs 7kg.
The size is the same.
It is painted black on the outside and has felt pads under the legs, so must have been used as an ornament.
Fortunately not painted inside, but a bit of rust.

Also found an Aussie distributor of Best Duty Potjies but they seem a different design to the one I and SBB have:
