Below are a series of photos sent to me by Jono in Rockhampton.  Photos never do real justice to how things really are/were.

Thanks to our Volunteer Fire Fighters like Jono damage and loss was kept to a minimum.  They all deserve our praise and a long rest.

You will see in the photos just how close many homes came to being lost.

Thanks Jono.

Kez and i took these photos of the Mt Morgan area a few months ago when we attended the Rockhampton Swap Meet. I remember saying  to her at the time it would only take one match to turn the whole area into an inferno....that grass looked tinder dry way back then. Things would have only got worse as time went on without rain .  I cant imagine how anyone can begin to control a fire in conditions like that.
Left click the photoes to see a slightly bigger size

I can only imagine the fear of being there and looking at the real thing, the photos are very graphic.

SBB those grass photos are fantastic I have never seen grass growing like that.

Thanks to all for sharing and hope the rain has eased it for you.
