Cornish Bread
450g Plain Flour
300ml Milk, tepid
25g  Butter
7g  dry Yeast (Tandaco)
1tspn Caster Sugar
1tspn Salt
Pre-heat CO to 200°C;
Cream together the yeast & sugar & add the milk.
Sieve the flour & salt into a basin.
Melt the butter (I used Devondale Extra Soft) add it, with the milk mixture to the flour.
Mix into a smooth dough.
Kneed 5 to 7 Min's
Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for 45 minutes.
Shape the dough into loaf & place in greased baking tin.
Bake for 15-20 minutes.
Serve hot or cold with butter, home-made jam & cream.

This is the easiest yeast bread that I have  cooked, simple ingredients, and easy to follow.
Cooked in a 12" oven.

Thanks Muzz, have printed out for trial.
Just wondered many times, are you a Chef at Perisher or Thredbo resorts?

That is truly a loaf to be proud of.  I looks the part and has a delightful looking texture when cut..  I must try this recipe...

HEy MUZZ, Just a quick question about the temp of the OVEN to cook the bread...  Similar temp to roasting meat>> or higher??

Bob
I like to cook meat at 150/160c a much slower process. I have found with bread and dampers the temp is a lot higher. I heat the CO to 210/215c because when you lift the lid to put the bread in you will lose some heat. Bread and dampers need that quick blast of heat to set the rise, I check in 15 Min's to see how things are going and adjust heat if necessary. This works for me, others may do things in a different way.
