Well, pod and Mrs pod had a memorable weekend, terrific company to go with the venue and the tucker cooked. The "My Kitchen Rules" grand final on Channel 7 last night wasn't anywhere as good as some of the CO dishes that were turned out at Broke. Astro's rabbits or pigs head, Roel's Beef Stroganoff and I have to say mikel's venison with apricots was right up there too.
There were hot cross buns, bread, bread rolls, sausage rolls, cakes, scones, damper and even ice cream, left overs were turned into pies and soup, just amazing, I think everyone learned a lot, I know I did.
We've decided to lock in the NSW COG for the same weekend next year and although it is open to change it'll be at Lostock Dam.

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

Well what a great few days!!
Ian, Judy, Roel, Chris,Trace the kids and Me had a ball and thoroughly enjoyed every one's company and It was great to meet some new faces who hopefully enjoyed themselves as well.
It never ceases to amaze me how such a diverse group of people can all come together and all get on so well, share a few beers and some good yarns, and not to mention great food, and it's all because we share a common interest in the outdoors and love of cooking in a camp oven.
It doesn't get much better than that and I can't wait for the next one Smiley

We arrived back home today, and many thanks to all and everyone who made our weekend so enjoyable.

We had not even set up camp when SBB arrived with sausage rolls straight out of the oven. And that was only the beginning (for us, arriving somewhat late)
It went on and on.... camp oven gastronomy at its best!!

SBB had a great collection of rabbit traps on display, and his whips and rawhide ropes with their history most interesting.

Looking forward to 2011.

Hear, hear! had a great time, just a shame I couldn't have stayed a little longer.

Lostock is a definate for next year, bring your fishing gear & for those who don't fish it is a great spot to paddle a canoe, either in the dam or the river!! (boats OK too, 8 knott limit)

A link to the Bush Ice Cream recipe.

Kez,
After looking at Astro's mini bread rolls I can see why the pic of my rolls didn't make it off the cutting room floor!! Grin Grin Cheesy Embarrassed Embarrassed

Cheers, Mick.
