gday again

picked up a 12" bedourie/tripod off ebay for $20 and was looking through the posts here and noticed that most of the pictures of bedouries look really well seasoned (dark) i also have another bedourie but i never had any luck in making my bedourie get that "really seasoned look"  Smiley

any info really apppreciated

Useing  it as a baking pan for roasts in your home oven help a lot and wash it gently. One of mine is 20 years old and the seasoning on the pot part is still a bit dodgey...the lid is good.

With the spun steel type, do you actually season them or as do you just go for it and the seasoning builds up over time.
Used as a baking tray as SBB says sounds like the way to go. Some of my baking trays are well seasoned. Grin Grin

Jack. mine has a good black coating as does the spun steel wok and paella pans, I put them in a moderate BBQ with lid and keep re-applying spray oil, for a couple of hours, seems to work.

Jack
I have had my oven for many years, I cooked a tomato dish in it the last time I used it and lost some of the seasoning, I think it will come good with more use.

I can't remember my Bedouries being new (bought in '85 from O'Donohues, Boulia from memory).  Years of use and abuse have made them what they are today, damn fine ovens.
