Well folks a few things have been happening in my life of late.  Some of them at my instigation and others per chance.

As a result I am uprooting myself to Darwin to live.  I have accepted a job up there and am expected to start work in Darwin on 10 February 2010.  As 'Big Kev' would say, "I am excited".  For me this will be a real 'sea-change' and I am completely looking forward to it.

The only downside is that I won't be able to attend any COG's on the east coast for a while.  Not sure if we have any Darwinians on the forum so will have to hunt up a few when I get there and get something going.

I will still be a part of this forum as it has been a big part of my life in the past few years.

Will also expect a get together if anyone makes it to the top-end.

Oh yeah ............ barramundi and mud crabs

Wishing you all the best Derek, wont expect you at the next Kingsthorpe COG next month.
Recommend you visit Casuarina Beach.
Might have to point the campervan to the North soon as Beryl has long service leave to use up.
Hope to hear of a Top End COG - in Winter.

Derek, we all pilot our own course, no point in waiting when it is there for the taking, we wish you well, be careful of the snapping hand bags.

Derek, me son, you must want this job some bad to go up there in that land of overheated temps and only one season, all year.

Don't melt.  & be careful how you try to cool off Quote:

Nope, there are 3 seasons in Darwin...  The "Dry", The "Wet" and the worst of the all.... The "Buildup"....

Good one Derek,
I could be your first visitor, Judy and I fly in on the 26 March for a months visit, our daughter is expecting a baby in early March so will be spending some time around Darwin. We spent 4 months in the area last year. I think it is one of the best places in Australia regardless of weather conditions. Good luck with your new job.
