This is a simple savory loaf

3 cups p/flour
3 tspn baking powder
1 tspn sea salt
375ml room temp beer (not lite)
1 onion thinly sliced
3/4 cup grated cheese
Mix first 3 ingredients together & add 1/2 the beer & add the rest of the beer as you go to make a slightly sticky dough. It should leave the sides of the bowl. Flour your hands & remove dough from the bowl & make into a round; add more flour to hands if needed. Place into a well greased bread tin & gently push into corners, top with onion & grated cheese. Bake in (preheated C/O 200c) for about 35-45mins. Test with skewer. I used stout that makes it darker, if you want a lighter coloured loaf use normal beer. If it is browning too quickly, cover top with foil.

That looks an interesting recipe for a loaf of bread sundryed, I wonder how a home brew beer would work with it. I might have to try it out one day and let you know.

What do you get called at home, Sundryeds Bakery maybe?

Muzz,

I tried the onion, cheese and beer damper this morning, turned out great, nice combo that, lucky I used all but a stubbie of beer as it was only 9.00am and a tad too early to have to finish off the left overs
I would post photos but havent worked that one out yet

Hi Muzz,

I also read that, had no bacon but will give it a go next time, i used draught beer as thats what I drink, as mentioned it turned out great

I would like to upload the odd photo if anyone can give me a bit of a heads up how to do this

Hey Tone - I'll have a go with photo uploading destructions

The photo needs to be less than 250kb in size so you may need to shrink the photo to the size you would normally attached to emails etc. Right click > properties will usually bring up a box telling you the file size. Sometimes hovering over the file will do the same thing.

Take a look below the row of smilies to where it says Attachment 1. There is a box with the word Browse in it. When you click on Browse you can then work your way to where ever you saved your photo, pick that file and it enters the path in the box. A copy of the file will then be transferred to the internet.

I can't give detailed instructions as I don't know what software you have available

if you click 'preview' you will need to do the whole 'attachment 1' process again. I always leave my photos until after I have checked the text I intend to post in preview.

If you have more than one photo, click on the + next to the word Attachments, you will then have a second line with Attachment 2 with the box with 'browse' in it....and so on and so on
