That spot looks good Dave
Being in the Riverland, I assume it has water very close by.
Any fishing there?

we are all slowly getting more and more into the camp oven cooking now.

no where near as good as what we see on this forum, but learning all the time from the fantastic posts on this site.

There is free camping along the river, but the recreation camping ground had showers and power if people wanted to use it. not close enough to throw the fishing line in..too busy realaxing Smiley Smiley

Cadell is well known for it's Training Centre with low security male prisoners. one of their projects was the camping ground.

First time that I have camped behind goal posts Cheesy Cheesy

we all love our choofers for fool-proof cooking.

...

a few on the coals

...

Cindy prepared the chook with onions inside and butter&lemon slices placed between the skin and the meat. the outside had a sprinkling of lemon and thyme.

...

...

because Cindy wanted to infuse the meat with the lemon/butter ingredients, the chook was wrapped in foil and placed in the campoven.

the lemon slices burnt black, but the chicken itself was cooked tender and the taste was sensational

...

I am starting to cook on coals with confidence now, and was very happy with the veggies. (just have to be more careful with the ashes Wink)

...

also picked up a nice pumpkin at the roadside veggie stall Shocked Shocked Shocked

A great lot photos and a lot of fun around the camp fire, one bloke smoking a world class bong and another one needs a hernia opp.
By the goal posts I would say you had the COG on a polo ground.
Great chicken dish.
