I got a phone call last night from the add that runs each week in the local paper, the guy on the phone told me he had a Fremantle camp oven if I was interested, I asked him how much are you looking for it $30.00. Drove the 120 Klms round trip this afternoon, when I got there he also had this Taiwanese oven gave him $ 50.00 for both of them, very happy with what I got  Grin

Nice going Nelson. Both great ovens.

Does the "Taiwanese Oven" have any marks on it? There's a few of them floating around on here but I'm not sure how much is known about them, Not much I believe.

Cheers
Jono

Does  the 8 on the lid signify  8", it looks bigger ?  BTW how many Fremantle ovens do you have now ? Nice work.

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

Jono I have given the Taiwanese oven a good going oven with the wire brush, and cannot see any maker’s indemnification, the seller of the ovens told me that he has ad them for around 40 years, both of the ovens are sitting in a bath of molasses right now (for the next week I am going to ear from the wife how much it stinks)

Pd I have 3 ovens from E & G Foundry 2, 4 litre ovens and the new one is a 6 litre oven, for some reason Granville decided not to put the size of the oven on the lid, but the capacity it can old, Jono your 16 inch oven  has 12 on the lid , which means  12 litre

Looking closer I can now see it is a 6, Nelson, you now have the distinction of owning more Fremantle E & G  ovens than anyone else in Oz I think you should send one to me lol.

Hear is a few pics of the ovens after the clean up, for some reason the Taiwanese oven was very hard to season, it came out of the molasses bath a nice grey looking metal, But I had to season it 4 times, and I think it needs a few more
