purchased my first camp oven today at my local camping store after looking at allot of camp ovens cast iron and steel spun i decided to go for a cheap 9qt oven called hi-country for $40. Cooked my first lamb roast with veggies tonight using heat beads 12 on the lid and 8 underneath. roast was the best i have ever had very happy with my purchase and didn't have to fork out much to get into camp oven cooking.

The next effort will be much better,

or a disaster!

Have a good look around the recipe section, pick some "I can do that" recipes and just go for it.
You don't have to eat your mistakes (mostly!)

Have fun.

My mother-in-law fell down a wishing well, I was amazed.       I never knew they worked.

Well done A83,
As OJ said keep at it, you cant tell whether its cooked in a $40.00 oven or a $400.00 one they all give the same result.

Hi Arrow

Are they the ones with legs on the lid but not the base? Or does the base have legs?
