The large pot has thick enough bottom to put on a campfire too (if you dont mind the soot   )

I often make something for the first nights stop in mine and then mostly use it for proving bread dough after that, just be careful not to let it seal and cut the oxygen from the dough.

A friend makes yoghurt all the time in his but I havent tried that yet.

Do  you get a receipie book with the Aldi job? Good fun playing with. Great to use as a slow cooker to get a feed on when you go out and have diner ready when you get home, or a meal when you traveling and stop fr the night.

Rice comes up a treat as well and was surprised.

If you look up the other thermal cookers by brand name on the web you will find there are some recipes on their websites.  I found quite a few and they give you some idea of how to adapt recipes.

The Shuttle Chef by Thermos is really the best thermal cooker I think, and certainly seals better and has better insulation.  But..... there is a marked price difference.
Not caste iron of course, but for those who want to use a thermal cooker then a versatile addition to camping equipment.  Similar to "crock pot" cooking method.  A good pressure cooker would probably save as much fuel and time.
