Came across this oven at Xmas while in Broken Hill. I suspect that it was made by the mob in Grafton who make the aluminium ovens. I presume that they were sold at the Innamincka Store in past years as a usefull souvenir. Thought there should be an example of these ovens in the history/ identification section.
Does anyone else have one, or know more?????????

Nice find Nelson.

The lid looks very similar to my aluminum Aussie Oven (also featured in the COCIA 'History Section'). I don't suppose you would have some more photos of the base and side views of your pot?

Just stumbled across this web site, as a matter of interest we were the manufacturers of the cast alloy camp ovens in an out of the way place outside of Grafton. The photo of the camp oven from Innamincka was first supplied to the Innamincka Trading Post when it was owned by Mike Steele & Andrew.  We then supplied future owners of the trading post with the same cast lid until we ceased trading somewhere around 2001.  All our camp ovens had the trademark of the gum leaves on the lids.  It was a very hard market to break into, as there were so many cheep cast iron imports, but thanks to the likes of Ken from Freedom Camping from Melbourne who only sold quality products we managed to get our foot in the door.  We traded under the name of Gurranang Foundry as that was the name of the area we lived in  30ks north of Grafton.  We then built a new factory in Trenayre Industrial Estate a lot closer to Grafton, and went from alluminium into the plastics industry.  We have since left the area and live in the middle of NSW in Lake Cargelligo.  Attached is a picture of the range of camp ovens we made while operating the foundry.  Attached is the range of camp ovens we made. Regards Aussie Noel

That's better Noel. Could not see many in your first pic.
Have you ever thought about producing them again?
I am certain the market, especially with people conected to sites like this would help sales immensely.
