Hi Guys,
Names Jon or Hairs, the wife is Karen or better know as Fysh and we have three billy lids under 13 that love camping  Grin.
We've been camping for 8 odd years, but have only over the last four or so years really started to get in to it. Love traveling, when we get the chance to, Live in the Clarence Valley, so we have a pretty good back yard to play in.
About 6 months ago we bought our selves a 9QRT camp oven, used it a couple times, A month ago I built a camp pit with a hot plate in the back and we are starting to use the oven more. What a great way to feed the troops. So I'm here to learn and to share as our knowledge grows.
So cheers big ears and one day we may meet around a fire.

Hi Guys,
I meant to yesterday when I introduced ourselves, Dolht.
... The rust on the plate appeared after heavy rain the night after Christening it.
I'have had the plate for 18 0dd years, it has Nuts welded to the bottom of it so I can screw on legs, It's a heavy sucker, A make suggested to get hold a drum brake from a big frontend loader or similar and set it the ground and cut a section out of the front to help hold the heat in. I'll look into later, but for the moment it does a good job. I would like to run power and water over from the house and build an outdoor kitchen area, nothing to big, just somewhere to prepare things to save carting them backwards & forwards from inside. When I was a kid, a mates dad had done the same thing, and many, many night were had sitting around cooking and telling tall stories.
Last camping trip, I taught the young fella to start a fire with a magnifying glass. He sat in front of it and had his lunch and kept it going until it was time to cook dinner,
...
You couldn't wipe the smile from his face if you tried.
Each weekend now they ask if we are going to have a Camp Cook up.
Hey why Not?
Grin

Yes, Have only been a member for about a year now. Great bunch of campers, as is here.
For us it's giving the kids an experience that will last a life time and hopefully want to share with their kids.
There is way too much to do and see here, why would you want to go OS. We'll be heading to Wilmington for the national meet in Sep/Oct, so we may get to put some of the tricks we learn here to good use
Happy Trails.
