The weather was worse than awful but that didn't deter several of us from competing last weekend at Casino. Happy to tell you that Sundryed won the breakfast section with a fancy egg dish I can't remember the name of,  (I think he made it up) and Topknot won the main course section with a beef based dish which was beautifully presented and again I can't remember what it was called. I got a special mention in the "other" main course section, other than beef that is with a Lambs Fry and Bacon dish, two judges and one of them didn't like Lambs Fry..... still I tried !!
I won the first heat of the Billy Boiling Comp and forgot to go back for the finals.
The damper section was very hotly contested and there were some very very good savoury and sweet dampers but a plain traditional damper won the day.
A good weekend even if it was very wet, we all sat around afterwards and ate what was left of our dishes after the spectators had had a taste.

Nice going all!!

Congrats Muzz and Topknot.

What's worse than awful.  Hurricane/cyclone winds or a tornado?

Your not kidding about the weather Pod.....it still hasn't improved much. Sad At least today the sun has been out at times and the wind has dropped. Wish I could have got there to have a go myself...ahhhh well maybe next time.

Well done Muz and Jilli would have loved to have been there to watch.  You have at least had a bit of practice cooking in rainy conditions.

I should go to one of these Camp Oven Cooking weekends one day, the trouble is they are a long way from home.
By the sound of it PD every one had a good time regardless of the weather though.
