Hi all, on Sunday I went to the local market and got me a 14'' Metters camp oven for $80.. I do good?  Smiley
It is Very good con, no rust or cracks but it is missing the original handle (if you have one can you PM me) but it did make my day.
If the weather holds out I well be using it this week. Grin

Good buy there Kev,
The handle is nothing, I am yet to see a so called original handle most are home made, to suit different camps such as hanging or coals top and bottom. The last photo shows what to be is a  fault line, I hope it is not a repair. A photo of the inside will help.

Hay Sundryed, Nope not a fault line but a scratch form transport.
Not me, the guy I got it form, I rapped it in my jumper to bring it home. The guy said I was nuts. I said "it is a back-pot thing"  Cool
Pic of the inside.

Thats a nice oven at an excellent price Kev. The easiest way to get a handle is get a thin piece of steel rod then find some one who's handy with a oxy to heat and bend it to the shape you want. From memory I use 8mm to make my handles. As Muzz has already said handles were usually attached by the owner after purchase

G'day Kev, if you are anywhere around Bendigo I'll make one for you free (sssshhh) I always make them for my ovens to replace the usual bits of fencing wire bails they arrive with.
Nice oven at a very nice price.
