Opinion:

Well worth a visit for tent campers. We spent a week at Stringers during the 2011 Spring school holidays and have no complaints about the site at all. I am looking forward to another visit when we can.
Caravans/camper trailers should go to 'Nanga Mill' just 1 km away where fresh water Nanga Brook joins the saline Murray River, or the new 'Baden Powell' area with its fully bitumised road - when it's completed around Xmas 2012
Description:
Lane Poole Reserve covers some 55,000ha of Jarrah forest. The Murray River flows through the reserve and offers numerous recreational activities from swimming and canoeing to white-water rafting. There are many interesting places to visit in the vicinity.
'Stringers' is a
tents only family camping loop consisting of 6 sites capable of taking a few tents in each.
Touted as either 6 person or 8 person sites, only 2 "vehicles" per campsite are allowed.
For us this meant one car and one 'garden variety' trailer, as the trailer counted as a vehicle.

The river is only about 50m downhill with access via very wide steps designed for carrying kayaks/canoes up and down. People from other campsites in the reserve, and day-use people often come to Stringers to launch their water craft. Much fun can be had watching their antics, and many interesting discussions can be had with people from many different areas.
