Having been inspired by other people's efforts I decided to have a go at making a few accessories.
Now I love to tinker and a have a few basic toys that I'm teaching my self to use. Its a steep learning curve and as you'll see from the poor quality of my workmanship I haven't crested it yet  Grin

As I'm still practising I used bits of scrap that were kicking around the yard rather than trashing good materials an example being the Robbo style lid lifter made from galvanised flat bar. Not ideal but good enough to practice on.

I have to say I'm just loving Robbo's design for the lid lifter, just brilliant  Smiley

My thanks to all of you talented fabricators for your inspirational posts

Olly

Keep posting Ollie and my Chief is going to curse you everytime I show him the photos and say
'could you make one of them for me'   LOL

I love the way the trivet's 'red glow' in the photo looks like its being super heated by the single heatbead  hehehe

Well done luvie!

The judge's decision is final... unless the 3rd umpire is called for... or a facebook campaign goes viral !!!

Over the years I have made lid lifters of every design imaginable and then some and what do I use ? A pair of multi-grips from the $2 shop, you can pick up a trivet or pie tin from inside an oven, lift lids, pots or heat bead chimneys and when I'm finished they slip back into my hip pocket, try that with a Mair lid lifter !

When I die I hope my missus doesn't sell my camp ovens  for what I told her I paid for them. pd

PD,

there's no doubt that the KISS principle is a winner and having read some thing you posted previously I'd already got a cheap set of mollies. Still, its fun to make stuff whether you need it or not  Grin

The thing is LG I bet when he makes them, they're all in true and squared up, unlike mine  Grin
