Had all the family around yesterday to celebrate my birthday. Was a last minute decision to do all the cooking in camp ovens.

It was an Indian themed dinner.  Beef Vindaloo Curry, Lamb Rojan Josh Curry, Chicken Korma Curry, steamed rice, Indian saffron and nutmeg creamed rice for dessert and a chocolate mud cake that Maggie iced to look like a camp oven.

Was a great night and as always an easy to cook meal in camp ovens although the cake was made the day before.

Here are the photos:

Three pots of curry cooking away

...

All set out ready for serving.  Three curries, rice(used the absorption method) and a dish of yoghurt

...

Starting to get ready to hoe in

...

The COCIA camp oven cake. Colours didn't come out in photos real good. In reality it was a very dark grey colour. Three layers with chocolate icing between. Handles were liquorice

...

No Maggie, the lid doesn't come off

...

Yes, I was sixty  Roll Eyes

...

Cutting the cake

...

Inside. Very delicious

Camp Oven Birthdays are the best Smiley Smiley
That Indian saffron and nutmeg creamed rice  sounds excellent,
By the look of Maggies iceing job she could get a job in a foundry making CO castings
