Here is quick note to mention the outstanding service by Bill & Paul from Southern Metal Spinners.  A camp oven mate I bought a few months ago remained quite tight in the joints.  Stupid me tried spreading the joints with a screw driver, but actually made the problem worse.

I explained my predicament to Bill in an email and enquired if I paid for the freight back to the factory, could it be repressed and posted back to me in my next order.

Bill's reply was he would send me replacement sides for the camp oven mate....and at no cost to me.

Several phone calls earlier in the week from Paul to establish exactly what model sides I needed.....then a knock on the door yesterday to find a parcel of goodies and the replacement  sides for the camp oven mate.

That is exceptional and outstanding customer service & is seldom seen these days.  Well done guys and thank you once again.

Received an email today from my friend Greg Jacobs in Illinois:

"I ordered a #10 Bedourie and the windscreen from Bill. It should be here by Christmas (not his fault, our Customs like to "sit "on packages for a while)
This weekend will be warm enough to cook outside, I know that I'll think of something interesting!!!"

I know Greg was talking to Rocky while he was with Derek about bringing these back for him, obviously it did not work out.

At first Bill refused to send to the USA,  and Greg was upset,  so I acted as a broker and asked Bill to check the postage,  it was $90.
Greg was happy to pay that so I advised Bill and he  agreed to take the order.

Greg says there is nothing like the Windshield on the market in the US.

They are great chaps.......I'm only 20 min drive from them......and they are open to suggestions on new ideas....for products

Just a tip for the Windshield.
I had several experiences of assembling the thing in the wrong positions so it looked like a Z or worse.
So have numbered each piece 1,2,3,4 in the configuraton I prefer - so is dead easy to assemble.  Also sprayed Olive Oil in the joins which helps a lot.

After having a look at it I gave Rocky my 12" Camp Oven Mate to take back with him. Smiley

Known Bill for more years than I remember. He has always been great with service. A true Aussie gentleman. He has semi retired now and gets away in his van as often as he can.

He is just not getting a good deal with the big dealers who are preferring cheap Chinese manufacturers over good Aussie products. It is a shame.

Chief squirted some stuff from a pressurized spray can with a plastic nozzle on my camp oven mate before we assembled it the first time ... I think it was a silicone spray.
Once together the first time and flexed around a bit, it hasn't given me any trouble since, except when I try to put the pieces in upside down   Huh   Roll Eyes

The judge's decision is final... unless the 3rd umpire is called for... or a facebook campaign goes viral !!!
