His and hers Satin Bowerbird at Gordon Country.
The females took a liking to water melon that had fallen on the ground.
At one time there was 1 male and 4 female in an area 4m2

Couple of years ago I stopped to cook breakfast at the picnic grounds at Cunninghams Gap, not that far from where you were. I set everything out on the table ready to go and was lighting the little gas stove with my back turned from the table and a few of these buggers rushed in and stole all my bacon rashers.

A few loud shouts and curses followed by much Grin

It’s not just isolated to our feathered friends, as marsupials like wombats, possums and quolls are also not averse to breaking into the old tucker box. Grin

Not any more. Tucker boxes have been sealed for a long time. Got caught once too often. Always found possums to be the worst offenders. Grin

I've heard of campers at Wilson's Prom being rudely awoken in their tents in the early hours of the morning by wombats brawling over food on top of them. Grin

. These animals which frequent the camp ground apparently have no fear of humans and are quite happy to fight and scrabble for food even if it means doing it on top of sleeping campers.
