First off I have locked the other thread so we keep everything together here.  Will also post another Poll for those who will now definitely be there.

From this post the COG is only just over 5 weeks away and is set for the Saturday and Sunday and for days either side that people are able to be there.

This occasion is not a formally sanctioned function of COCIA but a chance for everyone to gather, share camp oven cooking ideas, recipes and food over a couple of days.  There is no set program and you can arrive and depart as you want.

Everyone is welcome to cook and share the food however if you are a learner then you are welcome to watch and learn.  Of course the sharing of a drink or two is optional Smiley

In the previous thread there were offers to assist with firewood.  Can you please reaffirm if this is the case.  Bearing in mind that there could be around 25 different groups attending this could be a significant task.  People are welcome to use Heat Beads and gas (Camp Oven Mate) if they wish.

Also thread is also an opportunity to share what you are likely to cook so that we do not do the same things although sometimes it is great to compare the same recipe.

All in all it looks like it could be a great weekend and I look forward to your input here.

Maggie and I are expecting to get to Broke around the Thursday.  When are others looking at arriving??

Im not about to vote in the poll one way or the other, but Im getting itchy feet watching this thread Cheesy Grin
Regarding the wood supply, I think Poddy or Muzz organized a couple of loads of wood from the local fire wood supplier last time we where there.
We all put money toward the cost and that seemed to work well.
Maybe something similar could be arranged this time.

Hi Derek,
The bride and I are definitely coming to Broke, I made a promise to bring some wood, I have a ute (only a well bodied Hilux) which will be full of 3x3 hardwood gluts about 1 meter long, should have about 70 of the little buggers, very well seasoned so should burn a treat

For me I live in Newcastle so will be there Friday arvo around 6 o'clock, driving a Hilux dual cab with a Kimberley Kamper  in tow.

I have not been to a COG before, bit of a backyarder when it comes to cooking in the old CO, I have a few ovens that I will bring along, main reasons for coming is to meet the crew, learn a few tricks, drool over CO's and generally enjoy a great weekend camping with a bunch of like minded people

I have a few other couples that will probably come along to either laugh at me or laugh with me

As for recipes I need to get my act together shortly, may consist of a chicken Byrani ,might have a chop at a pizza or two in my large oven ( you will have to wait and see what that oven is) maybe some tandoori cutlets , damper of course and no idea for deserts as I don't really cook that sort of thing, found it doesn't go that well with beer
By the way, you think I can type a message, wait till I start talking Grin
Cheers
Tone

From all corners the cry goes out..
"Goddam it, we're gunna do it this year,  we're going for Broke!"

Where the hell is Broke in that huge landscape that is Australia?

I would love to attend but for one, the airfare is the crippler. I am looking forward to the reports and images of you all enjoying yourselves though.

My wife and I are not going to be able to make it now. Sad We decided to sell our two vehicles and update to a newer single vehicle. Our 4WD sold and we have not yet sold our Corolla so that leaves us in the lurch for a bit.

I was looking forward to meeting folks from the forum. Another time now I guess.
