Jeff .....we had a ball....and though Rick says it was licorice covered......the cake turned out yummy
only upset was the weather Saturday night..but its winter here you gotta expect wet camping..

I did this in 5 parts.

Friday night is Steak Night

Dave & Rosie's curried chicken & rice

Rosie's Zesty Lemon pudding was to die for.

Breakfast was eggs,bacon,tomato,mushrooms & cheese.

Soaked some kangaroo strips in olive oil/lemon & lime juice and smoked in the campoven.

I called this attempt Kangaroo Jerky. Nice smokey flavour, but a little on the chewy side.

Soaked the next lot in just lemon & lime juice and they turned out a lot better. Still taste like smoked trout, but a great way to eat kangaroo if you can get your hands on some.

Keeping the fire stoked

Cindy made an upside down kiwifruit/ mandarin/ mixed dried berries/ coconut/ cake mix.

Being the heat control doctor, I baked it to perfection. Didn't I Dave ?

baked a few more pasties for lunch and some extras for Sunday.

Used the leftovers from breakfast to make my first cornish pasty (Where was you BrianB when I needed you)

and the thumbs up from ol'Smokey ???

Dave & Rosie's kangaroo kasserole tasted beautiful.

Quail in my 3" campoven (will add a wire handle soon)

Simple chicken thighs

Sweet potato and cheese bake

Used the spuds to hold up our stuffed capsicums

A bit of rain was falling in the evening, so the verandah was there to use.

Smokey & The Bandit departing early Sunday morning

With the rustlers gone, the sheep came out

Chicken, Apple & Cinnamon sausages and our first taste of crocodile for Mothers Day brekkie

With 3 of our 4 kids kids away, a very relaxing start for mothers day.
