Non-members voting?
Last challenge, with only 3 votes placed at the time, I did open the poll to allow visitors to vote...
mainly because I was promoting the competition heavily on the COCIA facebook page to try and encourage new members to take part in the challenge and entice non-members to the forum.

There would be no point to telling non-members about it if they couldn't take part in the voting process.

It is up to the members to decide if they want the public to be able to vote, then the poll can be set up accordingly.
Express your opinion regarding how you think we should operate   Smiley

Rufz - the challenge was your idea in the first place - your thoughts?
TBF - you are my 'competition guru' - your thoughts?

Rules for voting?
Because the Poll is a secret ballot nobody knows who voted, nor for whom each person voted, so it would be hard to police any rules laid down about it.   I personally wouldn't/don't vote for myself in competitions - that is just my way of looking at life   Wink

Whether it be members only or open to the public - voting by people who don't have an entry is encouraged.
The challenge is not just for those who take part in the cooking process - it is for everyone to get involved with
It doesn't take long to look at some photos and click a button   Smiley

The judge's decision is final... unless the 3rd umpire is called for... or a facebook campaign goes viral !!!

I'm staying out of the ball talk. Last time i made apricot chicken it was with fresh picked fruit, cant beat it. As for voting i didn't vote last time, it was my better half leaning over and voting on her behalf. I personally think the more the merrier. Smiley Smiley Smiley

Steve - I have put you in the 'public vote OK' column

Do you still use tinned nectar when you make it with fresh fruit?
I'm thinking fresh would be less sugary, but probably not as juicy?
I have always used tinned nectar and fruit for apricot chicken

Brian - Dumplings have always fascinated me 'cos they don't do what one would expect.
For example, bread is baked in a pan in a dry oven. Leave bread in soup too long and it turns to mush. Pizza is cooked on a hot plate in a dry oven but put too much liquidy toppings on it and it too will turn into much.

Yet we put small dough balls in gravy and instead of turning into mush they get bigger and stay dry!  Cheesy
