Greg Jacobs in America made Welsh claypot bread on Saturday at a Scout camp and sent me the pictures:
...
See:

Looks perfect for a camp oven.

Does the claypot do anything for the bread?
Or is it just the shape of the finished bread. Cheers Brian.

I believe traditional clay pots do impart some flavour or cook to a specific flavour.  Do see though that Greg has used baking paper in his so I would doubt that would impart any flavour.

Carolyn was starting to get exceptionally good with her Artisan Breads, particularly the five minute ones.

Would be good to get her take on this but she is off somewhere with her BabyQ and doesn't do camp oven cooking any longer.

I was going to ask about that oven. Wasn't sure if it was just the photo or not for the deep sides.

David, do you know if it is one of the aluminium ones or cast iron.  They are so heavy in cast iron.
