Had some family over this afternoon so cooked a beef stew.  Gravy beef, parsnips, swedes, carrots, onions, beef stock, port, potatoes, tabasco sauce, salt & pepper.

Topped it off with a damper.

Great dinner on a cold evening.

Lovely looking stew Derek. One of them ingredients I don't like. i think its the parsnip, could be swede ? I used a soup veggie mix for a stew  once and something in it didnt agree with my tastebuds..

I just stick with onions, spuds, carrots, celery mainly now.

You have a very easy/relaxing cooking setup there. Cooking in airconditioned comfort I presume  Smiley

No air conditioning but yep she is a nice area for the type of cooking I do.

It is part of the entertainment area we have here.  Following two photos are from realestate.com.au website as we have the place up for sale.

In the first photo you are looking out of the front door.  Second one is looking in through the door.

The cooking table is at the end of the bench near the sink.

Hi derek, Great looking stew there mate. I have'nt used Port or tabasco sauce as yet!, does the port go in the stew or down the hatch. With the beef stock is that liquid or those cubes. I use mainly the same ingredients but also add a can of diced tomato's, 1tbs leggos tomato paste, worcestershire and bbq sauce, handful of corn and peas, turnips and celery. Anyway enough jibber cheers Ron.

Ron, with a stew I just throw everything in the oven.  I used to "soften" then onions and "brown" the meat but not anymore.

You are right about ingredients.  Whatever you like or sometimes whatever is in the larder.
