Would be a magnificent vehicle IMO but the servicing and running costs would be rather high I would think.

Our son has the V8 turbo diesel ute and his service costs are way over the top IMO. Things like wheel bearings having to be done very 20,000kms doesn't help.

Dave, the fuel issue was a consideration but when I look around at what else is available with the same or similar tow capacity and confort features (that was a big item as we aren't getting any younger) there really wasn't anything.

In the end it came down to either Jeep, Landrover or the Toyota.  When you look at all the reviews Toyota has it over them. We bought the Sahara.

6 year Toyota warranty helped as well.

It certainly is a dream to drive.  Going to have to run up around 1000 klm before towing the van so lots of running around in the next few weeks. Had 8 kilometres on it when I picked it up.  Up to Toowoomba on the weekend. Smiley

Thats great Derek.....when I was looking for a 4x4......I looked at Nissan Patrols....LC...and others.....but I just could not get my long legs under the steering wheels of them all....ended up with a Pajero.........it doesnt have the towing like yours but its comfortable for me.

What was exciting about my BiL's one is keyless start..just press button....long as you got remote in your pocket

Toyota Landcruisers are tough vehicles and ideally suited to the Australian bush. Our BJ70 diesel is 28 years old now and still goin strong!

Jeff

They are a very nice vehicle Chally, easy to maintain, super reliable and spare parts are cheap.
