Our next free camp was at Carcoar dam approx 60kms SW of Bathurst. It was another great spot and we straight away decided to stay a few nights again.

People tended to camp close to the loos and were rather crowded together so we took up a spot out on our own a little further away - much better.  We didn't have a bad view either. Smiley

As you can see we set up our shower tent as even though there were COLD showers up at the loos there was no way known I was going to try them out. Grin

This place has great amenities with flushing toilets and as just mentioned, cold showers. There was dam water on tap as well as some tank water. The local council came out each day and cleaned the amenities and checked the rubbish.

With the cooler weather we cooked a stew in the camp oven one evening. We used 'Percy' our home made pig to cook it on.

People have said that at times the noise from the wind turbines could be annoying but when we were there we only heard it faintly on a walk one afternoon. I will add the wind was in our favour while we were there though.

Nice location, nice set-up. I wouldn't' mind a day or two there.
