This stop is on the border of NSW and QLD and we planned to spend a few nights on the river. We were enjoying it so much we ended up staying there four nights. It's a great spot and only about 1km from town. There are free hot showers provided for travellers at the public toilets in the centre of town. More and more country towns are providing these services as it is a good way to get travellers to stop and spend money in the towns. We supported the local grocer, butcher, craft shop and even the caravan park where we got a gas bottle refilled.

This spot is quite popular and one evening we counted approx 36 camps. The maximum stay is fourteen days.

Anyway the following photos are of our camp site and some photos taken in the Texas area.

Jeff

We decided to do a roast for one even and a storm blew up. Thankfully we missed most of it. It was a bit of a job trying to block the wind and rain but it was worth it. Smiley

There are some interesting things to see in the area. The old buildings are from the original township which was on the river flats. After a couple of big floods (in the late 1800's and in the 1920's I think it was) they shifted the town to its present location on higher ground.

We stayed in almost the same spot in Easter 2011.

Love the photos.

Local Cod is good I hear.

Did you visit the Pub and see the real Texas Jackalope? (much worse than Qld snakes)
