Anymore info on this one Derek, are all 5 dishes on the one day? I think I would like to go even if not competing in the cooking event, just to watch the horses do their thing.

When I put that post up I sent them an email asking when the website will be updated for 2014 but no reply as yet and I see the site hasn't been updated.

Still unclear if it is an optional 5 categories for judging, or if it is compulsory to enter 5 dishes, 1 in each category.

This is why proofreading by outsiders is important - they can point out the bits that can be interpreted multiple ways   Grin

The judge's decision is final... unless the 3rd umpire is called for... or a facebook campaign goes viral !!!

All comments are my personal opinion only and/or based on real life experiences.  No debate will be entered into.

Can enter 1 or more of the categories.

Michael Viller is making a new flier for them.

This is a 2 day event,  they do not say which day the cook off is,  it is Sunday.
They give a judging time but do not say when cooking can start.
I have given some input in this.

Camp oven cooks are invited to do demos on Saturday.

I have been in discussion with the GHHD Committee and have agreed to oversee the running of the Camp Oven Cook Off for this event.

We are discussing how the day will happen however one thing that has been agreed to is that the definition of a team, which was originally defined as 3/4 people will change to allow a team (husband/wife or partners) of two.

A main fire will be lit and coals will be supplied.  Participants will not be allowed to light their own fires.

As the cook off is to be in tune with the era of the working horse HeatBeads will not be allowed and all cooking will be carried out using coals.

I hope to have some information on prizes in the not distant future.
