Chianti Stew

A nice warming stew for those chilly winter days.

Ingredients:
Gravy Beef
Chianti Classico (or stock)
4 Red Potatoes
2 Portabello Mushrooms
2 Onions
4 Carrots
3 Celery
4 cloves Garlic
1 Cinnamon Quill
800g can Australian Ardmona chopped tomatoes
small amount Olive Oil
Salt and Pepper to taste

The kitchen and ingredients

...

...

Chop the ingredients roughly, cut the meat into 1" cubes and coat with flour
Place the potatoes in a bowl of water
Brown the meat in small batches

Saute all the other vegetables and herbs in the olive oil

...

...

Add the meat, tomatoes and half the bottle of Chianti Classico (or use beef stock)

...

Simmer for 2 glasses of wine or half a book, then add the potatoes and simmer for another hour

...

...

Once the potatoes are cooked allow the sober one to plate up

...

Enjoy   Smiley

Looks very tasty indeed, LG.  Makes me wish we had a 'winter' up here  Grin Grin  Heavy rain has put the kybosh on my outdoor cooking plans (in the new fire pit) for the long weekend I'm afraid.

Love the armchair!

It is very tasty Seamus  Cheesy
Try cooking it in your camp oven on your home stove - just use a really low heat and slow cook for a couple of hours.  I drink my wine very slowly...  Grin

Rain? What's that?  LOL
We are supposedly having some tomorrow - but that's what they said about today too and we didn't get a drop!

The old chair has stood the test of time, that's for sure.  Very comfortable and just the right height for stirring the camp oven   Wink
