We went to Watsons Jayco at Coffs Harbour today and nearly put the deposit down on a new caravan.

We have been looking at upgrading for some time and have settled on the new model Jayco Silverline 21.65-4 OB.  This one is 21 feet long where both the lounge and bed slideout.  It is the outback version with the new JTECH independent coil suspension.  Also has a washing machine.

We will be adding extra solar power in anticipation of Lithium batteries in the future and a grey water tank.  All the standard features are pretty good in it.

Have decided though to wait for the Brisbane Caravan & Camping Show coming up in a few weeks to see what deals they have.

Will be either selling or trading our 18'6" Magestic Knight.  She has been a great van for us but after living in it on and off for two years we determined it wasn't the right design for us and we are going bigger. (If anyone might be interested please send me a message on here)

Must admit we did buy the Landcruiser Sahara at Christmas in anticipation of this happening.

Layout of the new van below. Click to enlarge.

I can't afford the majestic, but I can let you have the Millard and you can make up the difference  Cheesy

How do you go with your face against something solid when sleeping?

Maggie could take offence at you saying that  Grin Grin Grin Grin

Our current van has the bed head between two wardrobes so the set-up is something similar.

Our new van has arrived in Brisbane.

Took the old van down to Brisbane Camperland - Jayco, had a little discussion, shook hands, signed some paperwork, the deal is done and collect the new van on 18 June. Oh, left the old one in the yard so we are vanless until then.  Grin Grin Grin

Also scored two free tickets to the Brisbane Caravan Show together with free train travel to get there and back.  Cool

Was an exciting day at the Caravan Show.  We wandered around everything but didn't buy any accessories for the van Smiley

Here are some pictures of our actual van on display at the show. Going to be our home away from home.  The big thing that hit me that I hadn't realised before was all the LED lights in it.

The slide out definitely works a treat.

Only improvement that I would have is two recliner armchairs and maybe mirrored ceilings above the bed  Grin Grin

Very nice Derek. Congrats to you and Maggie. I'm sure you will get to take it to some fantastic places around our great country.

I have ordered a diesel heater for it from the UK.  Decided to go with the same model I had in the old van.

While we will be doing lots of running around as soon as we get it our first major trip is going to be to the snow in August so now and then it will be cold travelling.

After that across to western Victoria for the COG in September.

My daughter is getting married on 1 November so have to be back in Qld by late October.

Next year if all goes to plan a few months in Tasmania.
