I would like to recommend this FREE camping place behind the Maidenwell Pub:

https://www.facebook.com/maidenwellpub

Great meals,  great log fire,  great hosts.

Has several fire pits through the camping area.

Near Nanango Qld.

The Maidenwell Observatory is next door:

We stayed a night there last year David and also recommend it. The coin operated showers are in the recreation grounds amenities which are at the rear of the pub grounds. You get a key from the barman.
