I roasted a 1kg slab of kangaroo tonight in the elect oven.

Absolutely bloody delicious  Smiley

$10 @ kg is a bargain for low fat meat.

One hour at 220 degrees did the trick and with a spicy plum gravy, it was one of the most enjoyable roasts I have eaten. I normally like well done meat, but the roo will dry out if cooked too long.

I will do another roast in a few weeks at the Vic Cog.

Also bought some garlic and herbs kangaroo sausages and they were up there with the best.

Ruffy a few moons ago you could buy roo direct from Macro Meats at Athol Park. Don't know if you still can.
I see they do other kinds of meat now.

I will check out Macro tomorrow. There was a game meat butcher at West Lakes until recently.

I bought mine at the kangaroo stall in the Adelaide Central Markets. Good prices there. Current special is 3 kg marinated roo steak for $30.

As Arnie says, I'll be back  Cheesy  I think roo is going to be a staple meat from now on.

Rufzgutz. Must tell you "Road Kill Roo" was my signature dish at COGs but so many women wouldn't eat it I dropped it off my menu ! Made no difference telling them it came from Woolworths.

It is a mind thing with eating game meats.

Cindy and my daughter had no problems eating this roo. Everyone liked the snags.

Brian, I popped in to Macro Meats today and they have a ripper of a selection.

Mini roasts for $5 that will be ideal for a couple.

That $10 roast on Sunday also made me a Kanga Sanga for lunch today and yesterday.

And tonight I heated the sliced leftovers in a spicy plum gravy. Served with baked veggies it was a very easy meal.

They have roo jerky and roo metwhurst also.

Will be good to get some tips Rob. if I can roast in the camp oven as good as Sundays effort, and with the spicy plum gravy, nobody could resist it  Smiley

I tried the kanga bum burners today and they are pretty hot. Then someone said that you are meant to eat them  Smiley Smiley

Also got some roos balls AKA as meat balls. Rolled 'em around in the Wok with a little of my special sauces and they tasted pretty good.

Will probably cook one of the mini roasts on the weekend in a pot roast..
