The next ACOF is on the first weekend of October 2016 which is a long weekend. This will be the 10th anniversary of ACOF.

Maggie and I had such a good time at this years festival that we are coming back and at this stage have decided to enter the cooking competition as a two person team.

Give it some thought and perhaps think about doing the same.

The "Croweaters" took out the championship this year and they are a husband and wife team so we reckon we can do it.   Cheesy

Hi Richard.  The Camp Oven Festival is at Millmerran on the Darling Downs south west of Toowoomba.

As for Alstonville just keep an eye on that post for any changing details and turn up.

Cheers

They have released the 2016 cooking competition details.

I note that the "Beginners" ONLY can now use Heat Beads.

I saw that Derek. I think allowing heat beads goes against all the the Camp Oven Festival represents. The beginners have a seperate division so they should use fire and coals as well. I'm not against people using heat beads; I just don't think they belong in such a competition.

I was at the last Festival and there were only four teams in the main competition (these were all locals from the Darling Downs) and a handful in the beginners.

If they were to keep going the way they were then the cooking competition side of the festival would have to be abandoned for lack of interest.  As it was the beginners competition was out of the way and visitors were unable to see them.

Using Heat Beads has come a long way and hopefully it will see a few more entrants in the beginners section.
